Sakthi Mission – completes 18 years

- by Cultural performance.

Please see the letter below, from Sr. Chandra, describing the experience

of the 18th Anniversary Celebration of Sakthi Centre.

The day became a memorable one in the history of Sakthi mission.

At 8 a.m – all gathered in the ground.
Sakthi Artists were in uniform and came in marching.

Prof.Mr.Manoharan was the chief guest to preside over the function.
Sakthi artiste could present cultural programs and Miss.S. Murugeswari could deliver a speech on Freedom.

11a.m Fr.Silvester D’Cruz sac was with us to celebrate a Thanks giving mass.
We had a very lively and meaningful Eucharistic Celebration.
All the artiste were offering themselves to God along with their
Folk art tools and received Gods blessings.

Arpana akkas and ICM sisters were all happy about Coming together and shared the meal prepared by the artiste.

After the meal every one felt free to meet one another and shared their stories.

 

The day reached its high light by 4.30 p.m
Mr. Monivannan, Principal,ABC Politechnic, Dindigul was presiding the function.
The one hundred students who were trained during the year 2010 -2011
at our Sakthi community college in four groups Folk Dances, Tailoring,
Computer applications and Folk craft work received their Certificates.

Mr. R.S.Mony, The District President, Tamilnadu Forward Writers and Artiste Association, Dindigul,
honored the senior artiste of our Sakthi Group.
Two of our senior artiste was sharing their lived experiences.
The gist of their experience they tried to express in one simple sentence.
“When we came to Sakthi we were like clay and after the training we became a beautiful statue.”

Mr. Ramamoorthy, The District Secretary, Literature Forum, Dindigul, honored the present artiste of our Sakthi Group.
He was appreciating the new venture taken by Sakthi group and the commitment of the artiste in promoting Counter Cultural Values.

Mr.K.Murugan, Thasildar,Revenue Department, Dindigul honored the musicians.
Cultural program was given by the present Sakthi artiste.
Welcoming the new members for this year training was done by giving a lamp.

The celebration came to an end at 6.30 p.m when we announced National Anthem and
we could experience God’s blessings with good shower.
